WI-FI TROUBLESHOOTING & COVERAGE IMPROVEMENTS · GREATER PHOENIX
Find the cause of the dropouts.
Before adding another Wi-Fi box.
A buffering TV or disconnected speaker does not automatically mean you need a faster internet plan. PHE helps Greater Phoenix homeowners review Wi-Fi coverage, device connections and network layout so streaming, audio and connected systems have a clearer foundation.

- Record where and when it fails
Note the room, device, time and whether other devices lose service too. If all devices stop working together, check your internet provider’s outage information before changing the home network.
- Compare locations
Try the same normal task closer to the router and in the problem area. This gives useful context, but a single speed test does not prove the cause or guarantee coverage.
- Keep the network configuration
Write down router and access-point models and recent changes. Avoid factory resets or renaming the network as a first response; these can disconnect previously configured AV and smart home devices.

Ubiquiti: signal, obstructions and wireless interferenceSeparate the symptom from the cause.
One device or the whole home
We start with where and when the problem happens. A single room, a particular streaming device and a property-wide interruption point to different things to investigate.
Signal, interference & placement
Walls, distance, neighboring networks and equipment locations can affect wireless performance. We review the property and the existing access-point layout rather than assuming another extender is the answer.
Wired connections & backhaul
Fixed AV equipment and access points may benefit from suitable Ethernet routes. Available cable paths, device support and the existing switches determine which connections can be added.
AV & connected equipment
Share the TVs, speakers, controls and cameras that disconnect. We consider their network requirements alongside everyday devices, with any replacement hardware or cabling included in the proposed scope.
Start with your space.
Send your city, a rough floor plan, router and access-point models, problem locations and examples of affected devices. Include any existing Ethernet outlets and whether the issue started after a change.

Wi-Fi Troubleshooting questions.
Will a faster internet plan fix poor Wi-Fi coverage?
Not necessarily. Your provider connection and wireless coverage inside the property are different parts of the system. We review the symptoms before recommending equipment or service changes.
Should I add mesh Wi-Fi or another access point?
That depends on coverage goals, construction, cable access and your current equipment. Placement and the connection back to the network matter as well as the product type.
Can you help with outdoor Wi-Fi for a patio?
We can assess coverage and suitable equipment options for the location. Walls, distance, exposure, power and cable access influence the design; an indoor signal does not guarantee reliable patio coverage.
Can PHE fix an internet provider outage?
We can help assess the home network scope, but provider outages and service-account issues need to be handled by the internet provider. Tell us whether a wired device and several wireless devices fail at the same time.
